The Begininning

You shall start as a squire, the first step in becoming a knight. A squire was a boy (usually about 14 years old) whose role was to be a junior to the knight. The squire’s job was to learn about Chivalry, the code all knights must follow, and to learn to care and use weapons. It was also their duty to enter the social life of castle etiquette which included jousting, music and dancing. The squire would serve in his role for seven whole years and eventually become a knight at the age of 21. However knighthood could be awarded sooner if the squire were to show bravery in battle.
